When you add devices to a smart home, they're divided into rooms. You can change it later in the device settings.

## How to manage rooms {#manage-rooms}

Here's what rooms do in Yango smart homes: 

- Group smart home components in the ![](https://yastatic.net/s3/doc-binary/docs/support/selfhost/yasmina/yango-app-icon.png){height=20px} Yango Play app. If you have a lot of devices, it's easier to search for them:
    
    — Yasmina, turn on the kettle in the kitchen

    — Yasmina, turn off the air conditioner in the bedroom
    
- Help Yasmina understand the request better if you have multiple devices with the same name. Just specify in which room the device is located, and she will execute the command there:
    
    — Yasmina, turn on the light bulb in the bedroom

    — Yasmina, turn off the light bulb in the hallway
    
    If the speaker and device are in the same room, you don't have to name the room. By default, the commands you give through the smart speaker are performed in the room where the speaker is.
    
- One thing that helps with managing lighting and power supplies is that all light bulbs or sockets in a room can be controlled with a single command:
    
    — Yasmina, turn on the light in the living room
    
    — Yasmina, turn on the sockets in the kitchen
