Supported Matter over Wi‑Fi devices

For now, you can try connecting the following types of devices:

  • All types of lighting devices: light bulbs, lighting fittings, and LED strips (which can turn on and off, adjust brightness, color, and shades).

  • Smart sockets (with the ability to turn on and off).

  • Smart switches and relays (with the ability to turn on and off).

The Matter protocol has some specifics, so not all devices may be supported.

Alert

Pay attention to the description of the device when making a purchase. It should have two protocols indicated: Matter and Wi-Fi ("Matter over Wi-Fi", "Matter/Wi-Fi", or "Matter, Wi-Fi").

Below you can find a list of devices that have already been tested and are compatible with the Yasmina smart home. We'll keep updating the list, so if you don't see the smart device you need right now, try checking back later.

How to connect a Matter device

  1. Open the Yango Play app.

  2. In the top right corner, tap plus Created with Sketch.  → Smart home device → Matter search.

  3. Select the hub you want to connect the device to.

  4. Bring the Matter device closer to the hub. This is important for the initial connection.

  5. Switch the device to connection mode according to its instructions and tap Done in the app.

  6. Select the Wi-Fi network with 2.4 GHz frequency. If you have two Wi-Fi networks, select the one that doesn't have "5" or "5G" in its name.

  7. Scan the QR code located on the device or in the user manual that comes with the device. If you can't scan the QR code, tap Enter the code manually and enter the 11-digit numerical code located below the QR code.

After that, the search and connection of the device will begin. It usually takes up to 20 seconds.

Troubleshooting

The device won't connect to the smart home

Try connecting the device once again. If you still can't connect, follow a few simple recommendations:

  1. Make sure the home has Wi‑Fi internet access. Try opening the google.com website on your phone. If there's no connection, contact your service provider.

  2. Restart the router by disconnecting it from the power supply, waiting ten seconds, and plugging it back in.

  3. Make sure that you've selected the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network when connecting. It's important if your router operates in two bands: 2.4 and 5 GHz.

  4. Completely close the  Yango Play app and open it again.

  5. Check if access to geolocation is granted for the  Yango Play app in your phone settings.

  6. Make sure that your Matter device is no more than 5 meters away from the hub.

After that, try to connect the device again.

If you are still unable to connect the device, contact support.
