# Adding a device to your smart home

To manage a third-party smart device, register and configure it in the manufacturer's app, and then link the manufacturer's account to Yango. After that, you can manage the device with the manufacturer's app as well as with Yasmina and the ![](https://yastatic.net/s3/doc-binary/docs/support/selfhost/yasmina/yango-app-icon.png){height=20px} Yango Play app.

1. Connect the device to the power supply and turn it on.
    
1. Download the manufacturer's app to manage the device:
    
    - POLARIS IQ Home: [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polaris.iot&hl=ru&pli=1), [iOS](https://apps.apple.com/ru/app/polaris-iq-home/id1485051183)

    - Xiaomi MiHome: [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiaomi.smarthome), [iOS](https://apps.apple.com/app/id957323480)
    
    - Other manufacturer: find the app yourself in [Google Play](https://play.google.com/) or the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/)
    
1. Open the app and log in to your account on the manufacturer's site. If you don't have an account yet, register one.
    
1. Configure your device in the app. Please note that you'll need a smart home hub controller to connect some devices. To find out whether that's required for your device, visit the manufacturer's site.

You need a Yango account to connect and manage smart devices. If you don't have an account yet, [register one](https://passport.yango.com/auth/reg).

1. Turn on the smart device and press the button on the body.

1. Open the **Smart home with Yasmina** section in the ![](https://yastatic.net/s3/doc-binary/docs/support/selfhost/yasmina/yango-app-icon.png){height=20px} Yango Play app.

1. If this is your first smart device, tap the banner **Devices** and select the device manufacturer from the list.
    
    If you already have smart devices added, tap ![](../_assets/basic-icons/plus.svg) → **Smart home device** in the top right corner and select one of the suggested manufacturers or tap the magnifying glass icon to find yours.
    
1. Press the **Link to Yango** button and log in to your account on the manufacturer's site.

1. Tap **Update device list**.

All new devices you register in the manufacturer's app will be added to the linked Yango and become available for voice commands. If a device isn't added automatically:

1. In the **Smart home with Yasmina** section of the ![](https://yastatic.net/s3/doc-binary/docs/support/selfhost/yasmina/yango-app-icon.png){height=20px} Yango Play app, tap ![](../_assets/basic-icons/plus.svg) → **Smart home device** and select the smart device manufacturer.

1. Tap **Update device list**.

You can connect compatible devices with [Zigbee™](https://yasmina.yango.com/support/en/smart-home/turn-on/zigbee.md) and [Matter over Wi‑Fi™](https://yasmina.yango.com/support/en/smart-home/supported-matter-devices.md#hubs) to [Yasmina](*stations) directly.

##### **For Android**
 
:   **Settings**&nbsp;→ **Apps / Manage apps**&nbsp;→ **Location access / Permissions**&nbsp;→ **Location**.  

   The exact path to the access settings depends on your phone model and Android version.

##### **For iOS**
 
:   **Settings**&nbsp;→ **Yango Play**&nbsp;→ **Location**.

If you have two Wi-Fi networks, select the one with no "5" or "5G" in the name.



####  {#matter-devices}

 Matter is a universal unified protocol for data transmission between devices that uses well-known wireless communication standards (Wi-Fi or Thread). You can only add devices that support Wi-Fi (Matter over Wi-Fi®) to Yango Play.
