# How to add a Zigbee device to a Yango smart home

Yasmina Midi supports the Zigbee protocol. You can connect her to [compatible](https://yasmina.yango.com/support/en/smart-home/supported-zigbee-devices.md) Zigbee devices directly. If your Zigbee devices are already connected to a third-party hub, [link](https://yasmina.yango.com/support/en/smart-home/third-party/turn-on.md) your existing hub account to your Yango account.



1. Open the **Smart home with Yasmina** section in the ![](https://yastatic.net/s3/doc-binary/docs/support/selfhost/yasmina/yango-app-icon.png){height=20px} Yango Play app.

1. Search for devices. In the app, tap ![](../_assets/basic-icons/plus.svg)&nbsp;→ **Smart home device**.

1. Tap the banner **Zigbee search** and select **Find a device** or **Find multiple devices**.

1. Switch the device to connection mode. The hub will add it to the smart home.

    - It's usually enough to connect the device to the power supply (for network devices) or pull out the protective battery label (for sensors) and hold the button. Devices often signal that they're in connection mode by blinking.
    
    - To connect a smart light bulb, try turning it on and off 3-5 times.
    
    To learn more about switching the device to connection mode, read the manufacturer's instructions.

    If you want to connect multiple devices at the same time, make sure they're all in connection mode.

## Troubleshooting {#troubleshooting}

Make sure the device is in connection mode and try connecting again. The device search time is limited to 45 seconds.

##### **For Android**
 
:   **Settings**&nbsp;→ **Apps / Manage apps**&nbsp;→ **Location access / Permissions**&nbsp;→ **Location**.  

   The exact path to the access settings depends on your phone model and Android version.

##### **For iOS**
 
:   **Settings**&nbsp;→ **Yango Play**&nbsp;→ **Location**.

If you have two Wi-Fi networks, select the one with no "5" or "5G" in the name.

 Matter is a universal unified protocol for data transmission between devices that uses well-known wireless communication standards (Wi-Fi or Thread). You can only add devices that support Wi-Fi (Matter over Wi-Fi®) to Yango Play.
