Reconnect Yasmina Max or switch the Wi-Fi network

If Yasmina Max is set up using Wi-Fi and you want to connect it using the Ethernet port, simply plug in the cable and the speaker will automatically switch to a wired connection. After you unplug the cable, Yasmina Max will automatically find a known Wi-Fi network.

Follow these steps to connect the speaker to:

  • Wi-Fi, if the speaker was initially set up using Ethernet.
  • Another Wi-Fi network.
  • The same Wi-Fi network again (for example, if the password's changed).

To connect the speaker:

  1. Press the activation button and hold it for five seconds until the light ring starts blinking blue.

  2. Open the Smart home with Yasmina section in the  Yango Play app. You'll see a “Yasmina Max found” banner. Tap the Connect button and follow the instructions in the app.

    If the banner doesn't appear
    1. Select Yasmina Max from the list of devices.
    2. Tap the Reconfigure button and follow the instructions in the app.

    Open app Yango Play

Tip

If you often travel with your speaker (for example, to the countryside) and don't want to reconnect it to the network every time, you can assign your Wi-Fi networks the same names and passwords. But do remember that using different names and passwords is safer.

How do I share Wi-Fi from a mobile device?
  1. First, turn on a regular Wi-Fi network on your phone.

  2. Turn on the hotspot in your phone's settings.

  3. Make sure the Wi-Fi network name doesn't contain Arabic letters, spaces, or special characters. To change it, go to Settings → Network & Internet → Hotspot & Tethering → Wi‑Fi Hotspot → Access Point Name (APN).

  4. On the Wi-Fi selection screen of the  Yango Play app, tap Connect to a hidden network. Enter the hotspot name and password. Follow the instructions in the app.

Don't share video or audio recordings of your speaker connecting to Wi-Fi. The sound contains an encrypted version of your Wi-Fi password.

I can't connect to the internet

If you're having problems connecting to the internet, try the following:

Your network parameters have changed

If your network parameters have changed and you need to reconnect Yasmina, set up the speaker again.

Yasmina says says there's no internet connection, or music and videos often stutter
Check your internet access and reconnect to the network
  1. Make sure there are no connection problems on the provider side:

    • Try opening google.com on a phone or computer. If it doesn't open, restart the router. If the problem persists, contact your provider.
    • Connect Yasmina to mobile internet via your phone's Wi-Fi. If Yasmina connects and works well via mobile internet, the problem with the Wi-Fi connection is most likely on the provider side.
  2. Yasmina needs a stable Wi-Fi connection to work properly. Put your phone next to Yasmina and see what network level it shows. If you get less than half of the bars, move Yasmina closer to the router.

  3. Restart the router by disconnecting it from the power supply, waiting ten seconds, and plugging it back in. Then restart Yasmina.

  4. Reconfigure the internet connection.

Restore the previous router settings

If you've recently changed the router settings, revert to the previous parameters and set up the speaker again.

Connect Yasmina Max to the wired internet

If the Wi-Fi connection is slow (for example, you can't watch videos in 4K because of constant stuttering), connect the internet cable to the Ethernet port on Yasmina Max.

If these recommendations didn't help, contact support. Specify the name of your internet service provider, router model, and device ID in the request. You can find the ID at the bottom of the device or in the  Yango Play app (in the speaker settings).

Yasmina Max takes too long to update via the wired internet during the initial setup

We recommend setting up the speaker via Wi-Fi. To do this, disconnect the Ethernet cable from Yasmina Max and try to set up the speaker again.

Once you've completed the setup, you'll be able to switch the connection from wireless to wired with no additional actions required.

The Yango Play app can't see the Wi-Fi network

Check if location services are enabled for the Yango Play app in the phone settings.

Android

Settings → Apps / Manage apps → Location access / Permissions → Location.

Note

The exact path to the access settings depends on your phone model and Android version.

iOS
